The Natural Retinal in The Face Oil Elixir Youth Boost comes from Halobacterium salinarum - a microorganism that survives in extremely salty environments.

It has a unique protein – bacteriorhodopsin, which uses light as a source of energy. It is from this process that the natural Retinal in The Face Oil Elixir Youth Boost is extracted through biotechnology - inspired by nature's ability to regenerate and withstand.

Thanks to this origin, the active molecule is extremely stable, pure and tolerant to the skin , providing effectiveness comparable to a clinical retinoid, but without irritation and dryness.

Retinal is up to 11 times more potent than retinol

Retinal (retinaldehyde) is the direct precursor of retinoic acid – the active form of Vitamin A , which restores the skin at the cellular level.

Unlike Retinol, which must be converted in two steps, Retinal only goes through one. This means faster action, more visible results, and less risk of irritation.

Each conversion step slows down the action and reduces effectiveness. That's why Retinal is up to 11 times more potent than Retinol , without compromising skin tolerance.

Centella Asiatica phytosomes – our second key active ingredient – soothe, regenerate and strengthen the skin barrier. Thanks to phytosome technology, the active molecules are encapsulated in a phospholipid shell, which ensures deeper absorption, prolonged action and higher tolerance to retinal.

Bakuchiol vs. Natural Retinal – what’s the difference?

Bakuchiol is a plant-based, retinoid-like ingredient that softens the skin, improves radiance, and helps with mild skin renewal. It is gentle and suitable for sensitive skin, but it works mainly on the surface and is not a true retinoid – it does not stimulate collagen and has limited anti-aging effects.

Natural Retinal is a true retinoid and a direct precursor to the most active form of vitamin A.
